KEY STAGE 3

Coalville Education Partnership (CEP ltd) offers Education Packages to young people who are struggling to reach their potential in mainstream education. Coalville Education Partnership is committed to work in partnership with communities, businesses, schools, and local people to deliver progressive education packages.

Coalville Education Partnership will work with local Behaviour Partnerships, individual schools, and colleges to deliver academic qualifications supported by enrichment and enhancement activities.

Consultant tutors with specific knowledge of education, careers advocacy, financial expertise and working with young people and/ or families will deliver bespoke packages to encourage young people to meet their potential.

CEP will provide support for whole person believing this approach gives each individual the opportunity to progress in each area of their lives.

CEP will deliver academic and vocational qualifications supported by enrichment and enhancement activities to young people who access CEP.

CEP will encourage young people to make positive and informed decisions that benefit their futures through diverse learning experiences.

CEP will offer support to young people to develop skills for the workplace and/ or further training.

CEP has developed working partnerships with many agencies and is well placed to offer an educational experience that will encourage progression for students.

Working alongside CEP offers students an educational environment and the practical application of skills as they develop. The student will be able to demonstrate educational and work-based skills which are vital for students who attend vocational courses as they often excel in a more ‘hands on’ environment. CEP will encourage students to address their social and academic needs whilst remaining in a positive learning environment. A work and life skills package will complement academic learning in engaging and varied environments and will address, health and wellbeing, positive relationships, barriers to learning, proactive and positive decision making. Additional skills of teamwork, communication and stretch and challenge tasks will be part of the delivery plan and will involve access to various agencies and training partners associated with CEP. These skills are vital for the continued development of the young person and will underpin their academic and social learning in the future. Each practical session will be referenced and recorded for the student’s CV or education portfolio.

COURSES AVAILABLE

Land based studies and Carpentry

This qualification offers a practical experience for learners. It is an ideal basis for students who would like to work within the Construction, Forestry and Landscaping industries. CEP has taken ownership of 48 acres of ancient woodland and park fields, which offers students the practical application of theory both within Land Management, Carpentry, and general conservation. This approach gives students an opportunity to get outdoors and practice their skills. The tasks are varied and encourage the development of both their life and work skills and the academic application of subjects such as math’s and the sciences.

Music

With access to several music producers, students will be encouraged to develop their musical style, produce, and edit both audio and visual productions. Students will have access to IT and recording equipment. Both creativity and independent thinking will allow students to create and record their work and design their own outcomes. Students will be encouraged to develop their creative skills and record their work for their CV or educational portfolio.

Hospitality and Catering

CEP is involved with community projects around food provision and students will be able to apply their theory in CEP’s 5-star catering kitchen. CEP is involved in Community eating sessions and have cooked and distributed over 7000 meals this year across the local area. Students will have both theory and practical sessions and will work alongside cooks and Tutors to produce meals for home and other CEP partners to practice their skills. This ensures a varied timetable and encourages practical application of theory within catering.

CEP will encourage students to address their social and academic needs whilst remaining in a positive learning environment. A work skills focus will complement academic learning in engaging and varied environments and will address, health and wellbeing, positive relationships, barriers to learning, proactive and positive decision making.

Testimonial from the Head Teacher at Newbridge High School

“Newbridge High School has a long-standing relationship with CEP. We feel confident that the provision can offer some of the most challenging students support, mentoring and courses which allow students to address their specific needs, help them to make progress with their emotional literacy, academic achievement, and responsibility as a citizen. We feel strongly that they should be used more in terms of being proactive with students rather than as a last resort, however sometimes the unforeseen makes this a really reliable and effective support when schools need it.”
